A centrally located area with all the hustle-bustle of city life... very crowded throughout the weekdays but offering a little respite this early weekend Sunday morning alongwith the Urban Sketchers Pune.

Sagar Arcade, Goodluck Chowk, Deccan Gymkhana, Pune

Collage Sketch... an experiment with the Urban Sketchers Pune... a unique experience with random-shaped craft-paper pieces pasted onto the drawing paper before starting the sketch... Black n blue pieces were pasted randomly without any particular composition in mind. Then sketched over with black & white gel pens alternatively on the black & white surfaces created. Coloured patches were added on to break the monotony & add interest.

Colour added to the earlier Pen & Ink sketch after extracting a photocopy of the line-work before rendering one with Pen & Ink & the other with Watercolours.. 

This was the  unlikely sight in a corner of an otherwise well-planned college premise... 

A path leading to a culvert, culvert leading to a quaint little brick-structure with sloping tin-roof... complete with a tree-shadow fallen over it.. 

An artist's delight nevertheless.

From the campus of Fergusson College, Pune, with its great colonial monuments of Architecture ...

Sometimes it is hard not to render the sketches with colour although the black & white version looks good too.. My friends & colleagues prevail upon me to let my black & white sketches be... but the colourist in me takes over nonetheless... & so as per their advice, have started taking photocopies of the b/w sketch in its initial line-work form itself so as to have fun with colour on it giving me the best of both worlds & yet keep it plein air... at least in its initial part. So that it now transpires into a study in comparison... of B/W & Colour... & therefore posting the B/W version yet again... just below this image... all done with the Urban Sketchers Pune.
